Comrades:
My goal this month was to start the newsletter with an update on the Armed Forces Memorial expansion. Things are still at a stand-still. Our contactor has been working day and night to get all his work done. I check in with him daily to see how close we are. So again, I will say it should be soon. Membership is a big part of all VFW organizations survival and we are no exception. If you know of an eligible Vet, try to let him or her know how important they are to our VFW. We need to have numbers to be strong and to carry the message that our Vets need help and support from our government. Wars have come and some are gone but these men and women should never be forgotten. Nov. 11 is Veteran’s Day. Once again, we will have a program at our school. If you can, please come and support what you as a Veteran have worked so hard for. Some of our snow birds have started to go south and a number of them do a lot of volunteer work at the past. So we will be looking for help to replace them. I hope a few of you can find time to help out in one way or another. Our charitable gambling has helped our community and post in a number of ways. So if you can, let Don T. and Steve M. along with all the workers know that you appreciate all they do. It will make all of them aware that we appreciate their hard work. Without charitable gambling, we would not be able to function the way we do. Thank you once again. Chub Hensley Dear Auxiliary Sisters, Another beautiful fall day, and harvest is going full blast. Do you have your garden all ready for winter? Also safe travels for our members heading to warmer temps.
